Agva is known by its green nature, miracle rivers, deep blue sea, fresh air and different kind of fish. This is what comes in mind briefly.

Those who are willing to run away from noisy city life and have a silent, quite holiday firstly prefer Agva. Agva is 97 km far from Istanbul. Athoug it is officially called Yesilcay (Green River), it has reputation as Agva. Agva is located at the North East of Istanbul, on the coast of Black Sea. Agva is ideal for perfect weekend holiday.

Agva is located on the delta of Goksu and Yesilcay, which rise on the Hill Cal near Izmit. Hotels and restaurants are located on the banks of these two rivers with their activities.

Agva has been route to several civilizations, such as, Hitits, Frigs, Romans and Ottomans. Their traces can still be found in some villages of Agva. In Kalemic Village traces od Romans Church and grave stones. In Hacilli Village Gurlek Inn which is found at the beginning of 3th century at the end of 4th century. There is also trace of a Castle on Hisar Tepe Mountain, and Mill in Sungurlu section. In the mid of 14th century Turkmens came to Agva from Konya, Karaman and Balikesir and settled. Natives of Agva are grandchildren of Turkmens.

Agva is town with it's natural sandy sea shore on the coast of Black Sea, natural beaches, virgin coves, beatiful forests, n,ce weather which contains high oxygen. Kilimli Cove, Gelin Kayasi (Bride Stone), Sakli Gol (Hidden Lake) certainly must be seen. Gelin Kayasi (Bride Stone) is a huge white stone looks like bride's veil. This is why it is called Bride Stone.

Agva is very suitable section if you are interested in fishing. As it is located on the coast of Black Sea, all kind of fish can be caught. You can see fishing boats and vessels, you can talk to fishermen, drink with them, and go fishing with them if you wish. You can find fresh seasons fishes in Agva.

Agva is very suitable section for sight seeing in the forest, jugging, camping, fitness, for riding bicycle, canoe, swimming. There are Gazeller, Wolf, Fox, Jackal, Wild Pig, Turtle and different various kind of birds in Agva. Agva is a perfect area for hunting.
